DESCRIPTION:Beginner I ‘Ukulele Class - (8 Class Sessions)\nThis class is
  open to anyone who wants to learn to play the ‘ukulele with little or n
 o previous experience in playing the ‘ukulele.  8 y/o or older.\nYou wi
 ll learn how to do the following:\n\n 	Tune your ‘ukulele.\n 	Play 4 maj
 or chord patterns\n 	Tune your voice to your ‘ukulele.\n 	Play a number 
 of strum patterns.\n 	Play and sing at the same time.\n\nRequired items ar
 e:\n\n 	Soprano\, Concert\, or Tenor ‘ukulele (suggested price range $40
 -$120 for a budget/beginner ‘ukulele)\n 	Clip on tuner\n 	3 ring binder 
 for class materials\n 	Pencil with an eraser\n 	Music stand\n\n8 week sess
 ion\, $80 (new students) or $40 (returning students) suggested donation pa
 yable upon registration. All proceeds are for class materials and operatin
 g costs. The remainder will be added to the Cupertino Odd Fellows Charitab

 waitlist for the\nnext session upon the applicants request.\nInstructor Bi
 os: George Bobias and Randee Chin\n\nGeorge started his ʻukulele experien
 ce while a hula student at Island Spice and was an apprentice with the Kap
 alakiko Hawaiian Band. While George's daughter was still in elementary sch
 ool\, he started an after school ʻukulele class for K-5 grade students in
  2017 Even thought the classes were suspended during the pandemic\, they w
 ere restarted the first quarter of 2023 and are still in operation.\n\nRa
 ndee's ʻukulele experience began when she was a hula student at Hālau N
 ā Wai Ole in Cupertino. While there\, she learned to play the ʻukulele a
 nd sing Hawaiian music from the legendary Saichi Kawahara. She became a fr
 ont line performer for the Kapalakiko Hawaiian Band and taught both adults
  and children ʻukulele along side Saichi Kawahara for over 10 years in th
 e South Bay.\n\nRandee and George worked together at the Central Park Elem
 entary school ʻukulele classes. They wanted to teach this basic beginner 
 ʻukulele class to share their love of music by offering low cost ʻukule
 le lessons and to help subsidize the Cupertino Odd Fellows charitable dona
