For Beginning and Intermediate players from 8yrs & older
Group classes to learn:
Basic Music Theory, Chords, Strumming Patterns, and Transposition using songs of Hawaiʻi
Bring: ʻUkulele (soprano, concert or tenor), music Stand, Tuner and Pencil
$25 donation per person for the 3 class session & instruction book due at the first class on July 19th.
Instructor Karen Hāli’imaile Sanico first played ‘ukulele at age 8 growing up in Hawai’i then learned strumming patterns from her Kumu Hula, the late Auntie Linda Pi’ilani Danek. Karen has taught ‘ukulele classes & led groups in performances for 15+ years. She currently performs music professionally with her husband, Richard, as the Hawaiian music group, Leomele, which is Hawaiian for “a song tune.”
